Leslie - I would love to lead a Group Stitching Mantra for one of the Church of Craft meetings this spring or summer. It takes about an hour and I can bring all of the materials. Contact me and I can tell you more about it.

an imaginative, meditative, communal journey that merges the Eastern spiritual traditions of mudras, mandalas and mantras, and systems-centered group practice with the simple act of stitching.

@Jordan White:
the word "Church" used here is not in the religious context but in the context of an ASSEMBLY. A gathering together of people if you will. Not necessary to get all huffy, I am sure no one meant any disrespect to Churches in general. The skull is an affirmation of eternal life in many major religions. Mocking death as the end.
Also God did not create the "church", man did.

I always try to be positive in my comments, but everyone has limits. Just want to say that, as a Christian, I find it highly offensive that you would use "church" in your name, and then have a skull as an icon. The church, as a form of community fellowship, was formed by God, and it shouldn't be mocked.

Hi, I'm the Flock Officer for the Toronto chapter and our last meeting was in early 2010 - you could scroll up on the Toronto blog posts to see some of our last meetings.

There was a call then for anyone interested in taking over in my absence and as it's a big job, and sadly I was unable to find anyone with the time necessary to devote to the project. If you are interested, please email me at coldsnapbindery @ gmail dot com. Toronto has an incredible craft community, I miss it dearly.

yours in craft, Leah
