Craft-On at ETSY in Brooklyn

Please join us on the third Thursday of every month from 5-8 pm.
We’ll be at Etsy Labs!

55 Washington Street, Suite 712 in DUMBO Brooklyn

This place is AMAZING! The labs are home to all kinds of special tools & equipment, plus lots of donated supplies for us to use (but it would be a good idea to bring thread & stuff if you want to use the sewers). They are all about encouraging people to make stuff, just like us, so we get to have this special event every month where access to all of their goodies is totally free. If you like it there you can always go back for their Monday Craft Nights.

There is lots of big tables & chairs to spread out on. Our meetings are a casual drop in affair, come any time, bring anyone, bring anything you are working on or come & just check out what everyone else is up to. Snacks are welcome.

Sign up for the monthly e-mail update here.

Please e-mail the Very Esteemed Callie Janoff for more information.

Can’t wait to see you there!

San Francisco CoC Kickoff!

I’ve found a space for us to meet & craft together this Sunday! It’s super easy to park (downtown on Sunday – no meters), and this location is a breeze to get to w/ public transportation… only 4 blocks from BART – yes!

Sunday, November 23rd from 12-5pm
Citizen Space
425 2nd Street @ Harrison, #300, SF
(simply buzz #300 when you get there & signs will lead you up to the space on the 3rd floor)

Please bring food & drink to share (casual potluck style encouraged, but definitely not required!).

I don’t really have a Sunday School idea planned (usually scheduled from 12-1pm), but I’d be happy to do a quick “How to custom cut your t-shirt” in-person tutorial, for those interested. So, feel free to bring along (sharp/fabric) scissors & a t-shirt you may want to cut & I’d be happy to walk through it with anyone. This tutorial is also online here, for those who can’t make it.

If anyone else has a Sunday School idea they’d like to teach the group, just speak up. This Sunday would be a great time to craft holiday gifts or greeting cards, too!

We had so much fun crafting together at RPSC last Sunday, that I hope both SF & East Bay crafters will join us for this side of the bay’s CoC Kickoff! If you have any questions at all, please leave a comment on this post or email the SF Church of Craft Coordinator (me), Willo at

Los Angeles Church of Craft Meeting November 23rd

Dear Friends in Craft:

The final LA Church of Craft for 2008 is just around the corner, on
November 23rd. (Make sure to check out Felt Club and Swap-o-Rama-Rama
at the Shrine Auditorium THIS Sunday, November 16th. Both should be
tons of fun.)

At our last meeting, we talked about having a crafty supply/book swap
at the November meeting. I think this is a great plan, especially
with all the holiday projects many of us still have to do. So, if
you’ve got some supplies and/or books that need a new home, bring them
with you. (Within reason, of course. Remember that we’re meeting at
a public place, so there’s no room for really huge boxes, leave the
U-Haul at home, etc.) I know I have some cool knitting books and yarn
that are sadly neglected.

Come on down (or up, depending on where you live)!

Grab your knitting needles, crochet hooks, embroidery thread, yarn,
paper, pens, pencils, anything you need to make something cool and
join us Sunday, November 23rd for the next Church of Craft meeting.
Holiday projects, anyone? Now’s your last chance to work on them with
your fellow Church of Crafters before 2009 is upon us.

Meeting details:

Where: The Coffee Table in Eagle Rock
1958 Colorado Boulevard

When: Sunday, November 23rd
2:00 pm until 5:00 pm or so

You can park on the street or in a lot across the way for free.
For those of you taking public transportation, many bus lines
and the DASH serve this street. Check out the trip planner on to plan out your specific route.

Email me with any questions or comments at:

Also, if you have any suggestions for future meetings or things you’d
like to do, let me know.

Peace Through Craft,

Bay Area CoC is alive & well!

As most of you know, we took a break this past year. We’re happy to be back and we have some exciting changes to announce!

Now there are two Church of Craft meeting locations in the Bay Area: Oakland and San Francisco (you are of course welcome to go to either location).

Oakland meetings begin in November 2008, and will be held monthly from 12-5 pm on the third Sunday at Rock Paper Scissors Collective.

San Francisco is still in the process of scheduling their next meeting, but if you have any location offerings or ideas, please let us know. Otherwise, please know we’re looking & planning, and you’ll hear announcements for both locations posted here and via our email list.

Please join us in Oakland on Sunday, November 16th
to kick off Church of Craft Oakland 2008!

  • 12-1pm Sunday School: Beginning Knitting (bring needles and light-colored yarn if you have them)
  • 1-5pm Craft on!

LOCATION: Rock Paper Scissors Collective
2278 Telegraph Avenue, Oakland
RPSC Phone: 510.238.9171

For more information, please leave a comment on this post, or email the East Bay CoC coordinator, Lesley at

We look forward to seeing all you Bay Area crafters soon!

Cleveland COC!

Hi Cleveland Church of Crafters!

That includes but is not limited to sculptors, wire artists, crocheters, knitters, Lego builders, sewers, fashion designers, paper crafters, felters, dyers, popsicle stick joke writers, duct tape artists, painters, illustrators… We want to invite one and all to meet us for our monthly gatherings!
